About Nijo Racing
Nijo Racing is a British based Simracing team competing in several different series. The team was formed in late 2010 and has it's origins in Japan, where team founder Chris Williamson started getting involved in simracing. Indeed the team takes it's name (pronouced 'nee-jo') from a small area of the city of Kyoto. Currently the team's virtual base is located near the Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire, UK.
Having gained with experience with established GPVWC teams such as ST Racing and PB Racing, Nijo Racing was created and secured a place in the 2010 Masters championship. Within just a few rounds, drivers Chris Williamson and David Jundt had already tasted success, including a podium in our debut race, a maiden win at Snetterton.
With this success in mind, we decided to expand our operations and took part in the GPVWC Superleague, Supercup and Masters competitions in 2011 & 2012. In addition two subteams were created at Race Department to take part in the RD Rally Championship and the World V8 Supercars. The team enjoyed mixed fortunes in these competitions, but enjoyed them greatly.
In 2013 the team refocused their efforts on the GPVWC Superleague with the lineup of Ruud Heesterbeek & Tom van der Voort. Together claimed 2nd place overall in the Constructors' Championship.
